A little about myself.
I've been working in the National Health Service (NHS) since 1987 in various roles.
I started as a Domestic Assistant cleaning the local Public Health labs while I was still at Sixth Form College. On leaving sixth form Imy career path took me away from the NHS for a couple of years - running my own business and travelling around Australia.
In January 1991 I beagn work as an Auxillary Nurse on a medical ward while I waited to start my nurse training. Intially part of the second cohort of the "Project 2000" training, for personal reasons I had to leave my training and return working on the same medical ward as one of the first Health Care Assistants (HCA).
I spent many happy years in this role until I accepted again to train as a professional nurse in 1998.
I qualified in 2001 and have worked in the acute medical setting; caring for stroke patients and have hospice experience.
My main emphasis in recent years has been towards assessing and assisting students on my unit and thus this part of my website was born.
Please follow the links below; the essay links are for a variety of degree and diploma assignments.
Any problems or questions? Please email me and I'll see what I can do.

Student Nurse - The First Ten Years!
A Stocker Useless Information Book
When I started my training in 1998 I was fortunate enough to be supported by experienced nurses; many of whom lent me their previous essays to give me assistance in formating my own assignments.
I have used this idea to collate nine of my better essays - a mixture of degree and diploma assignments. As well as all applicable appendices I have also written out a list of useful abbreviations as added a couple pages of jokes just for good measure!
